SHORT STORY

I don’t know why I have remained friends with Fitch, all these years. I suppose I just put up with him. I’ve been too lazy to let him go. But one day I will.

We’re drinking lagers. He’s talking but I’m not listening. Some rubbish about how that morning he and Scaff had pinched a washing machine from someone’s back garden. He’s too dim to realise that it was probably dumped there because it didn’t work......

Deep in the woods, late at night,
Goblins gather to hear the tale,
A tale passed down through the years,
A tale of strange wonder,
A tale of strange creatures,
Derring do at the Dingly Dell,
Stuffed animals let loose with food....
