Arts Review and Poetry Competition Rules and Guidelines
Could you be a critic and write reviews? We are looking for the best new talent in reviewing the Arts and are offering a prize of £250 for the winning entry.
Review the things that you like - music festivals, gigs, jazz clubs, film, all forms of theatre and art, television, books, restaurants, the school play etc. - anything that can be termed creative or that involves performance. What matters is the quality of the writing and the perception of the comments. There is no minimum length, but 600 words is the maximum for each story. Send entries by email as part of the message. Tell us if you want to use a pen name or to remain anonymous - otherwise we will publish your name at the end of your entry.
The competition is open now to entries from anywhere in the world, but last entries must be received by 12 noon in the UK on 30th August 2009. There is no entry fee. Our judging panel will make the first selection and we will publish successful submissions as we receive them..
The winning entry is Music in Sandton Central by Je'anna Clements. Congraulation to Je'anna and congratulations and thanks to all the other entrants for setting such a high standard.
There are no prizes for sub-categories, but for ease of reference, we have organised entries under general subject headings:
