Arts Review and Poetry Competition Rules and Guidelines

Could you be a critic and write reviews? We are looking for the best new talent in reviewing the Arts and are offering a prize of £250 for the winning entry.

Review the things that you like - music festivals, gigs, jazz clubs, film, all forms of theatre and art, television, books, restaurants, the school play etc. - anything that can be termed creative or that involves performance. What matters is the quality of the writing and the perception of the comments. There is no minimum length, but 600 words is the maximum for each story. Send entries by email as part of the message. Tell us if you want to use a pen name or to remain anonymous - otherwise we will publish your name at the end of your entry.

The competition is open now to entries from anywhere in the world, but last entries must be received by 12 noon in the UK on 30th August 2009. There is no entry fee. Our judging panel will make the first selection  and we will publish successful submissions as we receive them.
After that, it’s up to you; we want you, the readers, to email us to tell us which pieces you like the best - just put the name of your favourite piece in the subject line.
You can send in as many separate entries as you like, but we will only accept one vote per entry in the primaries (you can vote as often as you like - but for different entries. and not for your own) from each email address. Our general terms and conditions apply to all entries.
The result will be announced on 28 September.
